About Me: Krista Kirkpatrick-Hatch
I am a mother of three: two step sons and a daughter that I gave birth to in 2021. Pregnancy and giving birth to a baby during the COVID19 pandemic was a difficult time for many, and my experience was no exception. My parents died earlier on in my life. The isolation and lack of support weighed quite heavily on me as I navigated through my pregnancy and postpartum period without their guidance and support. I found myself many times wondering what they would do, say, or suggest, especially in the difficult moments.
There were many areas where I struggled throughout my maternity leave, and about halfway through, I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety and depression. I was very fortunate to have a supportive husband and resources to access to see me through those dark days.
Coming out of my postpartum period showed me that I didn't want other 'new' parents to feel the way I felt: alone, anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated, to name but a few emotions... I wanted to help parents to feel supported, empowered, and confident in this next phase in their lives!
These experiences ultimately shaped the career path I’m on now. I became a postpartum doula in November 2022 and am a certifying Microdose Method Grief and Loss Coach. I feel that I finally found my ultimate calling with these teachings… I look forward to supporting folks using my knowledge and experience!
I can’t wait to meet you!
We aren’t meant to do any of this alone— I learned this the hard way.
How I Will Support You
-
I am empathetic, an active listener, gentle, respectful, and observant support person. I walk with people— alongside, not ahead or behind. I am committed to a person’s unique journey, reading their unspoken words, boundaries, and comfort levels, and adjusting my approach to support that person accordingly.
My goal for our relationship is to walk with you until you feel comfortable and confident to walk ahead without me.
-
I offer postpartum support to families in-person (within and around Calgary, AB) and virtually around the world! Here are some of the ways I support families:
Baby care education (diapering, dressing, bathing, sleep, fussiness, starting solids, tummy time, developmental milestones, babywearing)
Sleep support for parents and baby
Food and meal preparation
Light household tidying (laundry, dishes, sweeping)
Feeding support (breast/body/bottle, baby led weaning)
Sibling and pet adjustment
Communication (informal counselling, providing a listening ear, resources and connections with other supports)
I currently support families Monday-Friday between 9am and 4pm. Current availability can be found here or during our discovery call.
-
I can support you best through these experiences:
Loss of parent(s), friends, extended family, pets
Disenfranchised grief (loss of colleagues, clients, past friendships and relationships, etc.)
Loss of or shifts in identity
Loved ones with addictions
Life transitions (career, parenthood, blended families)
Estrangement
Health management (weight gain/loss, chronic illness, mental health)
Work stressors
If into the start of our coaching relationship either of us finds that we are not an appropriate match for each other, I will happily direct you to another coach who may be a better fit for you.

Land Acknowledgement
We at Liminal Wisdom wish to acknowledge that we are settlers on the ancestral lands of the Treaty 7 signatories: the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, Kainai), Tsuut'ina, and Stoney Nakoda Nations, along with the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 & 6). We live, work, play, and grow on these lands, in Moh’kinstsis, or what is colonially known as Calgary, AB, Canada. We humbly and respectfully thank the original keepers of these lands for allowing us to continue to do so. We at Liminal Wisdom will continue to do all we can to honour and take care of these sacred lands, respecting the original caretakers, and working toward reconciliation. This work involves unlearning and relearning; we strive to do better and be better.
